I have found that when i paint my feelings they literally stay on canvas and dont come back. The idea of exploring art therapy on this scale came to me a year ago and only after completing my education at Gnomon i have found the energy and time to pursue this goal. My new Series SkinDeep will focus on this and I have started with my biggest urge, well... the obvious.
Fine art to me does not mean tradional approaches only. Thankfully i can create my own reference in 3D without having to rely on models, camera/studio equipment, messy paint experiments and brain process power. I like to have to problem solve as little as possible when it comes to the technical part so the ideas can flow freely.

I usually start with a simple sketch to see if it works for me and if i feel it.

Then i pick a basemesh in DAZ and pose it to my liking, destroy the body in Zbrush and light&render my materials in Keyshot.

I take a picture of the grey canvas i bought and use it as backdrop for my renders. I didnt want to paint the beautiful texture of my canvas away. Finally i compose all my renders ontop of each other so i can pull out the desired effect in Photoshop.

Once happy, i use the render as reference for my painting. I kicked the saturation up in my painting spontaneously. No grid or Projector was used which made it a pain in the ass to apply on scale. Do not recommend. Got a Projector now.
